Cursive Browser Extension

The Cursive TypeID Browser Extension verifies your authorship and provides you proof of effort. It has several novel features, is easy to set up and use, and provides you with statistics and analysis about your own writing.

How to get started:

1. Chrome Extension

Add Cursive TypeID Chrome Extension with just a single click from the Marketplace page. Once added we recommend “pinning” it for easy access (click the puzzle piece next to your URL bar, then the thumbtack 📌 icon). Not a Chrome user? TypeID works on any Chromium-based browser, including Edge, Atlas, & Comet.

2. Desktop Application

License agreement window for Cursive TypeID software version 1.1.0, requiring user acceptance to proceed with installation.

Use the links below to get access to the MacOS or Windows desktop application (this is the engine that verifies authorship for your writing). If you’re enrolled at an institution we’re working with, this is free to download (look for a code from your teacher). Otherwise use the link to purchase.

3. Setup in Minutes

Popup window prompting user to set up their profile, with a description of verifying typing patterns and a 'Start Setup' button.

Once installation is complete and the application is running, look for the Cursive extension in your browser header, click the logo, and click to start setup. Use any online writing area to complete the enrollment process privately and securely by typing naturally. It takes just 1-2 minutes and will show “OK” / sc”verified” once complete.

Features

Authentication across your Workflows

Where ever you write: Cursive documents the writing process from draft to submission and provides writers with proof of effort where only static text was previously available.

When paired with our TypeID backend on MacOS or Windows PC, you can establish complete authenticity through your typing biometrics without compromising your security or privacy: everything stays local to your computer, nothing is shared to the web.

Revision history and Analytics

For any document created with Cursive TypeID enabled (and for any Google Doc) your can Review Authorship by clicking the “Active” or “Verified” button that loads at the top of the page or “Review Authorship” button on the popup.

This will load a summary page for the document and provide a downloadable and shareable proof of effort.
