Your use of Cursive adds to the growing chorus of individuals who believe in authentic effort and transparency. We wanted to let you know a few ground rules for our system and what rights you have as a user of the Cursive browser extension.
- We reward effort. Writing is a skill, like running or biking or flying. The more you practice, the better you become. The process is hard but intrinsically rewarding. We aim to provide a little extrinsic motivation.
- This is your data, and it has real value. You can download it. You can delete it. We do not receive any of your logs, work, or revisions. Everything stays local and in your control.
- Your participation is voluntary. While your professor, teacher, or institution may request it, your participation is not mandatory.
- We’ll back you up. To the extent you used Cursive and logged your writing, we will back you up in any circumstances where you believe you were falsely accused of academic dishonesty with any and all of the data Cursive collected locally on your computer/browser.
