TL;DR version: all tools have limitations and the best academic integrity plan is a combination of education, policy, tools, proactivity, and culture.

Our approach at Cursive is a little more collaborative and transparent: enlisting students are participants in integrity by providing easy opportunities to show their work. Detection tools are convenient, but the ramifications of false positives are a real concern in adjudication.
