Generative AI in Assessment Series #2: Oral Assessment & Activities in the Age of AI

Promotional graphic for a webinar on 'Oral Assessment & Activities in the Age of AI' featuring speakers Joseph Thibault and Justin Hunt, scheduled for January 21st at 8am EST.

This January 21st at 8am EST, good friend of Cursive, Justin Hunt, the founder and owner of Poodll, and I will host a webinar focused on oral exercises, activities, and assessment.

Justin is a long time developer and champion of language learning with a focus on multimedia (video, audio, recordings) to engage students throughout the learning process. Poodll helps 1000s of institutions worldwide to deliver language learning and oral assessment at scale using the learning management system.

I hope to chat with Justin about his experience and history working with Moodle with a focus on language, what guides his development, and how he’s seen things shift since the introduction of generative AI tools.

We’ll also chat about the potential applications of oral assessment in the age of AI and what he’s hearing from Poodll faculty and users.

Recently, oral assessment has been offered as a more valid way to assess learning. We’ll touch on recent research about this, discuss some approaches that leverage oral assessment for validity, and invite others to share their thoughts on this shift and trend.

Marketing/social media support is provided by Brain Station 23.
