What value does a static .doc file uploaded to an assignment inbox have? (Not much for valid assessments).
The shift to dynamic documents, including shared versions of Google Docs or Microsoft Word and use of process tracking tools like Cursive, adds more depth to assignment submissions by keeping the component of time and student revisions as part of the “product” (the final submission).
More and more teachers are leveraging revision history, periodic check-ins, and drafts as part of the overall assessment when evaluating student critical thinking and work.
Cursive, first and foremost, retains the depth of activity and effort for any writing assignment through better autosave and revision history features of Moodle’s text editor for forums, assignments, essays or short answers in quizzes.
